Annual Family And Friends Day At Faith Missionary Baptist Church

The Faith Missionary Baptist Church located at 115 West 49th Street will be celebrating their annual family and friends day service on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The theme for this occassion will be “Building hope for the future”. We are cordially inviting the community to come and take part with us in this annual occasion. This year the speaker will be Attorney Cynthia L. Quarterman. She is a graduate of the Alfred E. Beach High School and former queen of the school. She obtained her law degree from the Columbia University School of Law. While at Columbia, she served as Executive Editor of the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law. Prior to law school, she received an Industrial Engineering degree from Northwestern University and worked as a engineer for IBM.

Attorney Quarterman was the former administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. She was sworn in November 16, 2009, after being nominated by president Obama on August 14, 2009 and confirmed by the United States Senate on November 5, 2009. She resigned on October 4, 2014.

Prior to joining the Obama Administration, she was a corporate lawyer for the railroads and pipeline companies. She was previously a partner in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where she was a member of the Regulatory & Industry Affairs Department. Her practice focused on the transportation and energy industries, representing pipeline companies, railroads and other entities.
