Did you know that in Chatham County, there are 23,844 residents with Irish ancestry? No wonder St. Patrick’s Day is such a celebration in Savannah! We have this information, and so much more, because of the U.S. Census Bureau. An accurate and complete count provides us with a clear snapshot of our neighborhoods and helps us better understand the changing face of our nation. That’s why the Census Bureau is committed to doing everything they can to ensure a safe, secure, and easy count. The Savannah area was chosen to participate in the 2015 Census Test this spring to help research ways to do just that.
