The 100 Women in Savannah group needs your support to help raise money for local nonprofit organizations. They meet four times a year for one hour to learn about organizations that need funding assistance. The cost is $100/member each quarter, which goes straight to the selected charities. North Carolina Central and Hampton are the latest basketball champions in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Number one seed NCCU won the men’s tournament championship game with a 67-59 victory over Norfolk State while Hampton defeated top seeded Bethune-Cookman 52-49 in the women’s bracket. Both games were played on March 11 in Norfolk, Virginia.
Legendary men’s basketball coach Ben Jobe died on March 10 in Montgomery, Alabama. Coach Jobe is an icon in the history of basketball at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
